What facilities do you have at Waterfront Terraces?
Waterfront Terraces offer secure undercover car-parking, large and inviting saltwater pool, BBQ area, free Wi-Fi is available on-site, smart TVs inside the apartments, full kitchen & laundry facilities inside every apartment. Choose from apartments that have a balcony or courtyard. We also have an onsite tour desk where we can assist you with information on what to do and where to visit, plus help you with any booking arrangements you need to make. Can you help me with activities?
Our staff have knowledge of the region and what's available for you to explore. Looking for adventure tours, self-drive days, adrenaline experiences such as skydiving, bungee jumping or abseiling, or relaxing swimming holes, islands to visit and cars to rent, our friendly and knowledgeable staff can assist or book ahead, so you don’t miss out on any activities. Is there car parking available?
Secure covered car parking is available free of charge (1 vehicle per apartment).
Waterfront Terraces car park entrance is located at 246 Lake Street, Cairns. You will be provided with information on how to access and exit the car park upon your check-in. If you are travelling with more than one vehicle, street parking is available in front of the building (both on the Esplanade and on Lake Street) and is free of charge.
Will I be charged if I cancel my reservation?
Waterfront Terraces cancellation policy is free of charge until three (3) days before arrival. High season bookings can be cancelled free of charge until 7 days before arrival. High Season dates include all school holidays and 1st June to 30 September inclusive. Find out more about our Policies here.
If the guest does not advise of cancellation prior to this time, between 1-7 days accommodation charges will be forfeited, depending on the season. Over high demand, special event periods and group bookings, alternative cancellation policies may apply. The cancellation policy will be communicated during the booking process and can be supplied in a confirmation email when requested.
Is there a limit on the number of visitors?
Waterfront Terraces request that any visitors that are not staying in accommodation depart the property by 10pm (22:00) each evening. A maximum number of visitors per apartment is:

How many guests can the apartments sleep?
Each apartment has a maximum number of guests who can sleep overnight on existing bedding.
Only one (1) additional guest may stay in each apartment at a rate of $30 per night. All apartments have a sofa bed, when you add an additional guest, we will include additional linen and towels for your extra guest.
Do the apartments include linen and towels?
Yes. Waterfront Terraces are fully self-contained apartments, including all the linen and cooking equipment that you need. Just pack the items you want to bring with you, along with any food and drinks to stock the fridge. The apartments will be serviced (change of sheets/towels) for bookings 7 nights or more. Pool towels are available from our reception.
Can guests extend their reservation?
Extensions of in-house reservations are subject to availability. Waterfront Terraces do our best to accommodate, if the apartments are fully booked on the departure date, extensions cannot be permitted. Giving our reception team plenty of notice as soon as possible if you wish to extend your booking for the best chances of availability.
Is there Wi-Fi available on the premises?
Absolutely! All Water Terraces apartments are fitted with their own internet routers, providing our guests with complimentary and unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi in your apartments! Wi-Fi password will be provided upon check-in.
Can we request an early check-in?
Waterfront Terraces check-in time is from 2:00pm. If you arrive early and your apartment is ready, we are more than happy to provide you with an early check-in. However, we cannot guarantee early check-ins. If your apartment is not available prior to check-in time, you can drop off your luggage at our reception area on the date of your check-in and enjoy our recreational facilities. Reception will be able to assist you in finding a great place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast or lunch and will contact you if your room becomes available before 2pm. If you would like to guarantee an early check-in, we recommend booking the night before arrival.
What is your After-Hours check-in process?
If you arrive after our reception has closed (including weekends and public holidays), Waterfront Terraces have a very simple after-hours procedure for collecting your keys. Full instructions for collecting your keys will be communicated to you leading up to your stay with us via email and text message (if you have provided these details to us and have an Australian mobile number). An after-hours phone number is provided in the case of emergencies.
Can I request an ocean view?
Not all our apartments have an ocean view, and so we are unable to guarantee ocean views for those who request it. While we always do our best, all requests are subject to availability on the day of your arrival. If you would like guaranteed ocean views, we recommend booking the 2 Bedroom Apartments, or ask for a 1st floor 1 bedroom apartment. Please note: Levels 1 and 2 are only accessible by stairs.
Does Waterfront Terraces have lifts or stairs?
Stairs only. Waterfront Terraces do not have lifts; apartments located on Level 1 and Level 2 are only accessible by stairs. We’d recommend booking a ground floor apartment if you have difficulty with stairs. Our team are willing to assist you with your luggage during business hours.
Waterfront Terraces is a boutique Cairns Esplanade Holiday Apartments complex that provide both 1 and 2 bedroom apartments for short or long term stays. Waterfront Terraces provides convenient Accommodation near Cairns Base Hospital which is ideal for out of town visitors who are supporting family and friends for hospital stays. Our apartments are completely Self Contained Accommodation Cairns with kitchens and separate bedrooms as well as private bathrooms. Visitors who stay with us at our Cairns Waterfront Affordable Accommodation get some of the best views of the Cairns Esplanade with private balconies ideal for taking in the views out to Green Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Because we are positioned on the Esplanade we provide guests with great Cairns Oceanview Accommodation with great views from almost every room in the apartments.
